After working on custom app projects for many years, the Grandstand founders decided that building an app should be as easy as building a website. Armed with a desire to make apps accessible to even the most novice of computer users, the Grandstand team crafted a tool that combined the simplicity of web-builders like WordPress with a strong concept for how to showcase brands without giving up the benefits of a templated system.
Grandstand was founded in 2017 and has grown to a platform that is currently used by clients in nearly every state in the U.S., plus Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and more. Although it started with a focus on events, it has grown into a tool that can be used to build an app for nearly every industry.
The Grandstand platform is led by Jeff Abele, who has 25 years of experience in the digital space helping hundreds of brands move the needle. Jeff has served as the Director of Internet Operations for the University of Nebraska Athletic Department, the Director of Product Marketing for web startup JumpTV/NeuLion, and as the Director of Design and Interactive for a Lincoln-based ad agency where he led a team of 10 designers and developers on print, web, and mobile projects for some of the region’s top brands.
Grandstand's Chief Operating Officer, Melissa Abele, brings a Masters and Journalism degree from the University of Nebraska to Grandstand providing project management, design, and layout services. Melissa previously served as the director of Coach Bill Callahan's charity organization and also worked at The Clark Enersen Partners.
