Grandstand was pleased in 2021 to be part of so many county & regional fairs in 2021 by serving as the app platform for their events. Dakota County Fair (Minnesota), Siskiyou Golden Fair (California), and Champlain Valley Fair (Vermont) used Grandstand in August this year to provide key information for their event.
The Iowa State Fair is the largest event in Iowa and one of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country. In 2020, the state fair hosted several drive-through food festivals as a replacement for the canceled fair. This year, Grandstand was pleased to partner with the Iowa State Fair again to provide information to their near record-setting crowds in the reopened event. The state fair app included a variety of tools to help the fairgoers navigate the grounds and entertainment options. In addition, the fair app utilized bluetooth beacons, placed strategically throughout the grounds, to share specials and announcements when a visitor passed a specified location.
Erie County Fair in Hamburg, New York, is the fourth largest county fair in North America, drawing over 1million in attendance. Communicating to these fairgoers is a feat that Grandstand is proud to have helped with. With more than 100 food options and more than 225 shopping vendors, the app helps visitors find what they are looking for as they browse the variety of buying options. In addition, the full entertainment list and grandstand events are highlighted for those seeking music, comedy, or demolition derbies. The app is also used year-round as the Fairgrounds at Hamburg also includes the Buffalo Raceway and Hamburg Gaming.
For several years, Grandstand has helped the Illinois State Fair reach their attendees with information on entertainment, food options, vendors, sponsors and more. We were again excited to provide the full app for the Illinois State Fair again in 2021 as they returned to be open to visitors. The app also shared safety mitigation information so visitors could stay up-to-date on rules for attending. The map of the fairgrounds always proves to be helpful as the state fairgrounds are vast to encompass all the activities at the annual event.
This year we partnered with Illinois 4-H just in time for their state fair. The Illinois 4-H app was hosted in the 4-H Now Container, and saw high usage amongst 4-H participants and their supporters. The app had key features alerting attendees to schedules of contests, order of shows, and links to results. the app will transition from a fair-focused app to use year-round as a source of information for 4-H members on projects and events. In addition, it will be used for state-wide contests.
The Centre County Grange Fair in Centre Hall, PA, is a unique fair with a long history. the fair is the only remaining tenting fair in the nation, where families can set up a home-away-from-home on the fairgrounds. Vendors show their wares in a village of tents along the streets of the fairgrounds, giving the area a decidedly unique vibe. The fair, with its vast grounds and varied vendor options, requires a detailed map and fair food finder. The app provides a clear way to do that. In addition, Grange Fair offers varied entertainment and a full schedule of activities, which the app helps them communicate.
The Minnesota State Fair, one of the largest state fairs in the country, features a variety of activities and key among them is the 4-H schedule of activities. Grandstand has worked with the University of Minnesota Extension for the last few years, now offering a container that is filled with Minnesota 4-H apps, key one being the state fair app. This year’s app not only included the usual schedule and exhibitor guide, but also a way to easily find the livestreams for those not able to attend the fair in person.
Similar to the Minnesota 4-H Container app, Nebraska now has its own container for the variety of 4-H programs to include their full app. The Nebraska State Fair 4-H app was one of Grandstand’s first clients and has continued to be a center point for development. In addition to the full-featured app with schedule, list of activities, etc. The Nebraska 4-H State Fair app includes a full, searchable results section that attractively represents the finishing ribbons of those participating at the state level contests. Also, a website is produced with these results, so family and friends far and wide can discover the results of their Nebraska 4-H participant.
The Fallon Festival is a prime opportunity for those in the surrounding area in Nevada to learn about agriculture in their state. As one of Nevada’s longest-running ag festivals, the event has pulled together focus on education & entertainment for the Fallon area. The app does the same, pulling together the variety of opportunities at the Festival & Fair to communicate with attendees. The app provides food menus, event schedules, map, info about the local area, and links to purchase tickets.
