New Power Map Tools Enhance On-Site Navigation

We’ve added several new map features designed to make navigation and exploration in your app even more intuitive. From better orientation to deeper facility linking, these updates continue to make Power Maps one of the most flexible tools for events, venues, and communities of all sizes.

Custom Map Headings

Availability: All packages for apps created after August 18, 2025

If your custom-designed map was created facing east, south, or any direction other than north, users previously had to rotate their view to match. With the new Custom Map Heading option, maps can now open to any chosen direction, matching your artwork and eliminating confusion right from the start. This is especially helpful for hybrid overlays and complex layouts where “north” isn’t the most natural view.

Linked Facility Maps

Availability: Platinum+ packages for apps created after September 16, 2025

With Linked Facility Maps, clicking on a building or area can open a dedicated map of that facility (when a detail map exists). It’s ideal for large fairgrounds, campuses, or venues that want to provide detailed interior layouts—helping visitors move seamlessly between the big picture and the details.

Alphabetical & Distance-Based Lists

Availability: Silver+ packages

Our recently introduced Map Lists now let users view all map locations alphabetically or by distance, even when filters are applied. This gives visitors an easier way to find what they’re looking for, no matter how big your map gets. Read more in last month’s post: https://grandstandapps.com/blog/map-lists

Why it matters
  • Clear orientation: Open to the direction that matches your artwork, so users don’t have to rotate to get started.
  • Deeper context: Jump from site-wide maps to detailed facility maps in a single tap.
  • Faster wayfinding: Scan locations by name or proximity—even with filters on.

These updates keep maps clear, connected, and consistent—just one more way Grandstand helps your visitors get where they want to go.
