Your fair might run for twelve days. Most visitors don’t.
Some arrive for opening weekend. Others come for a specific concert, a livestock show, or a family tradition on the final Sunday. Your app connects all of them to your event—but when Saturday’s concert moves indoors, Saturday’s attendees are the people who need that update.
That’s where Grandstand Halo comes in.
Halo is the new name for an existing Grandstand capability: automatically building daily attendee alert groups based on when visitors open your app on the event grounds.
They showed up. Now you have a more relevant audience to reach.
How Grandstand Halo Works
Halo brings together two useful pieces of information: the day someone uses your app and whether they are within your configured event grounds when they open it.
- A visitor opens your app on the grounds. With location permission enabled, Grandstand can identify that the app is being used within your configured event area.
- Halo adds them to that day’s attendee alert group. Someone opening the app onsite Saturday becomes part of Saturday’s audience.
- Your team targets a relevant alert to that group. Choose the daily audience when sending an update intended for people attending that day.
Visitors don’t need to select their attendance date or complete a separate daily signup form. Your team doesn’t need to build the audience manually.
Different Days. Different Visitors.
Sending an alert to your entire app audience can make sense when you’re announcing ticket sales, revealing your lineup, or sharing news everyone should know.
During the event, your communication needs become more specific.
A venue change this afternoon matters most to people attending today. A reminder about tonight’s activities has a clearer purpose when it reaches visitors who have already used your app on the grounds.
Halo gives your team another choice: a daily audience built from actual onsite app use.
That can make it easier to decide who should receive a message—and help keep your event-day communication useful.
Put Halo to Work
A Concert Moves Indoors
Weather changes your plans for the afternoon. Send that day’s attendee group an update directing them to the indoor venue, with a link to the relevant event details.
A Program Starts at a Different Time
Judging runs long or a performance is delayed. Reach the day’s audience with the revised time so visitors can adjust their plans.
An Evening Activity Is Approaching
Give that day’s attendees a timely reminder about the evening parade, grandstand show, or another highlight they may want to work into their visit.
The opportunity is to choose messages that help people make the most of their day.
A Daily Audience, Automatically Built
Halo identifies qualifying app users who opened your app on the grounds that day. It does not require continuous location tracking, and membership in a daily group does not mean someone is still onsite when a later alert is sent.
Location permission is needed to identify attendance, and notification permission is needed to receive push alerts. Visitors must open the app on the grounds to qualify for the daily audience.
